In the Seventies, John Deere's flagship tractor would have been the 4020, and 2 wheel drive at that, and as the name grew, there was a need for John Deere sales and service in and around the New Forest.

New Forest Farm Machinery was formed in 1979 by 3 partners, all with farming backgrounds and John Deere connections. The changes in the industry have been enormous over this period of time, from tractors that had no cabs, to tractors that virtually drive themselves.

Some 25 years ago there was an opportunity from Deere, to diversify into Turf equipment and garden machinery, and that is what we did.

The business grew, and inevitably the original site in Honey Lane became too small and inaccessible. A replacement was sought, and a new purpose built premises was developed at Blashford in 1993, ideally located to provide services to Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire and beyond, covering Wareham, Wimborne, Poole, Longham, Bournemouth, Christchurch, Lymington, up to Salisbury, across to Romsey, Winchester and Southampton, Swanwick, Fareham and Portsmouth.

In 2009 the company had out grown the new building and more workshop space was needed and as a result, a major extension was added.
Today the business employs about 25 people. We can service anything from a lawn mower to a 300hp tractor, The principal franchises being John Deere, for tractors and farm equipment, ride on lawn tractors, and lawnmowers. Ifor Williams trailers, including tippers, livestock trailers, horseboxes, and plant trailers. Stihl power tools, chainsaws, strimmers and leafblowers. There is generally a good selection of used and secondhand stock on hand as well.
